"No Load Brake" Hoists

Hoists are classified as "No Load Brake" when they do not use a mechanical load brake for their secondary brake. The most common example is regenerative braking. All hoists are required to have redundant braking (two independant braking systems). Check your hoist manual to see if it has a mechanical load brake or not.
